General Motors UX Strategy humanizes mobility by ensuring our in-vehicle experience fulfills customer needs and stays competitive.
Were looking for a Tech Strategist to define optimal in-vehicle technologies to enable GM to go beyond meeting basic customer expectations. You will help create differentiated, innovative, emotional experiences between the customer and the vehicle. The Tech Strategist will play a lead role on our user experience team through research, design strategy development, product definition and concepting.
Were looking for a hands-on go getter who is willing to roll up their sleeves and work with the team. Together, you and our Tech Strategy Lead, will work with a multidisciplinary team in UX research, product design, competitive intelligence, engineering, and business leadership to successfully move from early stage concepts to delivery for vehicles set to be released in the next 3 to 5 years

Responsibilities
* Support our Lead Tech Strategist
* Leverage talent in tech strategy, user experience strategy, customer insights, market insights, competitive intelligence and product and/or service design into an actionable strategy and execution that will delight and serve customers
* Stay on the cutting edge of technological advancements across verticals
* Collaborate closely with team members to craft a world-class user experience across products and platforms, championing usability and human-centered design
* Participate in workshops and collaborative strategic activities with stakeholders and users
* Collaborate with teammates to design and conduct stakeholder and user research; capture problem definitions in a variety of forms and models, including personas, scenarios, and requirements
* Create deliverables and presentations to communicate your work
* Contribute to the continued evolution of the teams workflows and processes to further improve quality and performance
* Balance customer needs, technical constraints, and business objectives to solve problems effectively

Requirements
* 3+ years of experience creating technical solutions for digital interfaces, large scale websites, or complex software applications across a range of channels (web, mobile, in-vehicle, etc.)
* Bachelors degree in Technology, Experience Strategy, Interaction Design, HCI, Product Design, or related studies
* Ability to identify and apply technology to achieve design goals and to combine vision with strong creative and tactical planning
* Demonstrated experience in developing dynamic presentations in support of strategies
* Strong portfolio with work samples showcasing expertise in user experience strategy, craft, and depth of thought, with a focus on identifying and implementing technology
* Open to feedback, knows how give and receive criticism, and how and when to defend strategic decisions
* Experience in working across organizational boundaries to define, manage, and prioritize work
* Experience incorporating research into the strategic process, including contextual inquiry, usability testing, heuristic evaluation, etc.
* Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
* Masters degree in Technology, Experience Strategy, Interaction Design, HCI, Product Design, or related studies
* Knowledge of design thinking methods and track record of successful application
