Overview

This is an operations-based role that supports research and development functions by fielding requests for cellular products and managing communications related to coordination and fulfillment of requests. These communications occur within and between varied company levels and internal organizations.

Qualifications

Education:

B.S. in Biology, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering or relevant scientific discipline

Experience

Responsibilities

The role will require a high degree of approachability and interpersonal savvy, with a proven ability to work in cross-functional teams. Effective organizational skills will also be necessary as the candidate will be responsible for managing the request fulfillment schedule and organizing large quantities of data.

The Research Associate will additionally assist in manufacturing engineered T-cell products and intermediates in support of Research, Technical Development, Process Development, and Process Characterization efforts. Experience culturing mammalian cells is strongly preferred. The position will require experimental execution, documentation, data analysis, drafting of technical reports, and presentation of results. Additionally, the candidate will manage the LN2 inventory for both the Day 0 and End to End banking functions within Cell Core. Strong attention to detail and flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts is required.

* Mammalian cell culture and cell banking
* Experience with cell therapy process development or manufacturing
* Buffer and cell culture media preparation
* Excellent record keeping and documentation skills
* Experimental design experience
* Proficient use of MS Office products and working knowledge of statistical software (R, JMP).
* Ability to meet deadlines, adapt to rapid changes, and work in a fast-paced team environment
* Strong prioritization skills

Working Conditions

* Extended periods in labs or production area, requiring some level of gowning.
* Equipment Usage During Work Period: Computer 30%; Phone and Electronic Devices 5%; Lab Equipment 65%.
* Sitting at a computer terminal for an extended period.
* Regular sitting, standing, talking, listening, using hands & fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach.
* Requirement to work in a conference room / meeting environment for moderate periods of time.
* Light to moderate lifting.
* Regular, predictable attendance is required, plus occasional overtime, as business demands dictate.
* Moderate noise i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers.
