Position Summary
The Clinical Flow Cytometry laboratory is seeking an intern to join our industry leading team of flow cytometrists. The group utilizes a diverse range of state of the art specialized flow cytometers and supporting systems to develop, optimize, validate and execute flow cytometry assays in support of new and approved drug programs. As an intern, you will gain hands on experience using modern flow cytometers, analyzing data, and the overall process to perform clinical biomarker studies that help to develop new medicines.
Key Responsibilities
* Running flow cytometry experiments in aid of assay development and validation, either autonomously or in support of senior members of the clinical flow cytometry team
* Analysis and visualization of high-dimensional flow cytometry data generated in the lab using common software such as Flowjo or computational data analysis such as Python and R
* Daily optimization and routine maintenance of flow cytometers
* Accurate record keeping of experiments and procedures
* Interacting with team members to understand the needs of individual assays
* Summarizing and presenting research conducted during internship
* Other tasks will be required to support the team as a whole
Qualifications & Experience
* Current undergraduates who are entering the junior year with majors in biological sciences or related field
* Strong enthusiasm and interest in science
* Some basic lab skills from college course science labs or research labs
* Ability to work in a highly matrixed team
* Excellent fundamental skills such as communications, analytical and critical thinking
* Excellent organization and record keeping skills
