Pleasanton, CA / Genetic Sciences Division

How will you make an impact?
Our Organic and Oligo Chemistry team designs and synthesizes reagents for our Genetic Sciences Division. With your in-depth knowledge in HPLC, MS, and extensive experience in developing HPLC and MS methods, you will help develop oligo microarray synthesis, quality control and testing for new product development and launch. You will also be involved with multi-disciplinary project collaborating with cross functional teams.

What will you do?
Develop UPLC, LCMS, or other analytical methods for use in R&D and for transfer to Process Development, or manufacturing Quality Control
Characterization, purification, analysis and quality control of oligonucleotides with HPLC, LC-MS, Fluorimeter, UV-VIS spectrometer, or other
Write reports, present data, and interact with scientists from other R&D groups, Development, and Manufacturing
Interact with multi-disciplinary teams across multiple sites in multiple time zones

How will you get here?
Education
Ph.D. degree in Analytical Chemistry, Bioanalytical Chemistry or related scientific discipline

Experience
Hands-on experience with operation of Orbitrap, FT-ICR, or QTOF mass spectrometers; experience with Thermo Fisher instrumentation preferred
Strong background in UPLC and LCMS method development for small molecules or oligo nucleotides including impurity identification and/or quantitation
Hands-on experience with operation and maintenance of UPLC, LC-MS and UV-VIS spectrometers.
Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities using analytical tools
Writing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and technical report

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Ability to work both independently and in a team
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
Strong problem-solving skills and proven track record of creative thinking and consistent delivery of excellent results as demonstrated by publication/presentation records
