What you will do-
You will provide leadership, direction and resource stewardship for the site manufacturing operations to ensure that products are produced in accordance with quality, supply plan, cost, and safety objectives. You will align and collaborate with all relevant support function required to run the site operations.
Essential duties & responsibilities:
* Own decisions related to optimization of operating processes, enforcement of standards, lean-manufacturing tools, and line stoppages
* Influence employee decisions, investments and inventory levels
* Leverage the insights gained from multiple internal and external sources and assessments to drive timely and impactful improvements to the manufacturing environment
* Stay connected to best-in-class, industry-leading knowledge, practices and trends
* Support training and knowledge management infrastructure through cross-training and competence development of employees
* Proactively assess existing support and investments and ensure investments yield productivity benefits consistent with established objectives
* Champion a continuous improvement (CI) and lean culture across the function you lead directly and indirectly
* Be accountable for timely product supply, line performance and sustainable implementation of standard work
* Conduct win/loss analyses to understand key drivers and communicate these concisely and regularly to other levels in the organization
* Constantly partner with engineering to evaluate equipment effectiveness
* Foster a highly engaged culture and environment that makes the site a destination for top performers
* Guide, develop and manage a team of supervisors; coach, teach and motivate others to achieve performance objectives
* Throughout the production process, oversee the work and the processes to ensure safety procedures are followed and safe work habits are developed
* Submit periodic reports, in writing and in person, to appropriate personnel
* In partnership with manager, HR, and finance, be accountable for rationalizing headcount, and resource deployment
* Establish and maintain productive peer-to-peer relationships internally (within and outside the site) and externally
* Actively support the achievement of strategic objectives critical to other functional areas within the division
What you need-
* Bachelors degree required
* 10+ years of related work experience required; progressive work experience in the manufacturing industry -highly preferred
* 3+ years of supervisory or people management experience required
* Lean/Six Sigma experience/certification highly preferred
* Demonstrated understanding of continuous improvement and team problem solving -highly preferred
* Experience working with cross-functional teams focused on improving operational performance and managing structured change -highly preferred
