Job Description
Position Summary
Operate tapping machines, remove scrap and deliver spinners as required. Fill hoppers of assigned machines. Ensure tappers are operating, not running empty. Change catch pan when full. Gage and inspect visually each time catch pan is emptied. Comply with all safety rules.
Essential Job Functions
* Starts machine and observes operation, making adjustments as needed.
* Gauging and checking parts for each catch pan, for conformance to specifications.
* Record and plot on SPC charts
* Record production on daily sheet
* Operate PIV and electric pallet jack to move tubs and load machines
Essential Skills & Experience
* High School Diploma or GED preferred
* Must be able to write legibly
* Ability to follow written, oral and diagrammatic instructions
* Follows appropriate housekeeping procedures according to company guidelines
* Ability to work overtime as needed
* Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor
Competencies (5-10 Critical Areas of Understanding/Practice for the role)
* Basic mathematical understanding and ability (add, subtract, divide units of measurement)
* Perform the four operations with the comma and decimal fractions
* Problem solve involving several variables in or from standardized situations
Physical Demands
* Walking, standing and moving for 8 hour shift
* Use of hands, arms and fingers regularly, to thread gage parts
* Pushing and pulling
* Visually looking at parts for quality defects
* Lifting 5-35 pounds regularly, occasionally 50+ lbs assisted 2 person lift anything over 35 lbs
* Climb ladder, stool regularly

* Other additional PPE may be required when operating machinery or using chemicals.
Working Conditions
Inside production facility, temperature fluctuates dependent on season. Noise levels require hearing protection. Working around powered industrial vehicles. Production floor can become slippery with oil. Working with and around chemicals and oils.
