Join our team now at Siemens Healthineers as a Staff Scientist (Experimental Nuclear Physics) for our Research Team at Hoffman Estates, IL.

We are seeking an experienced physicist with excellent academic background to help the team achieve the ambitious goals.

You will work in a multi-disciplinary team and have access to luminary researchers worldwide, and you should have a strong customer focus and passion to understand and address clinical needs in this field. You should be comfortable to take on large and complex problems as an individual contributor or as part of a larger team. In this role you will contribute or lead research efforts to support future image formation concepts and prototypes using your ability to critically evaluate concepts, design experiments to test the assumptions, components or systems, and to improve on them using both analytical skill, but also consider business aspects. It is expected that you have significant expertise in gamma ray detector instrumentation specifically and of gamma ray image formation, in general. Your excellent communication skills and expertise will also allow you to provide technical support to service and marketing teams in addressing customer complaints and inquiries, and you will collaborate with luminary clinical sites worldwide to test and validate the new technologies in a clinical setting.

Requirements:

* Ph.D. in experimental nuclear physics with 7+ years experience post graduation
* Desired areas of expertise
* Gamma ray detection instrumentation and image formation
* Dosimetry
* Medical Imaging
* Demonstrated ability of experimental design and prototype development
* Demonstrated strong data analysis skills
* Demonstrated ability to use Matlab or Python, or equivalent
* Ability to communicate with both scientists and non-scientists is essential
* Commercial research experience preferred
* Solid familiarity with MS Office, and efficient operations within Windows and Linux OS is mandatory
