We are looking for a Senior Development Engineer with a backgroundin distributed systems and cloud services to join as a founding member of abusiness-critical Engineering team in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The services we build will be central to thesuccess of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and will require innovation that is botharchitecturally broad and deep down the stack.

As a SeniorDevelopment Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building andoperating components and services that will range from Big Data collection andanalysis, storage replication to highly distributed control planes. You willhave the opportunity to work on both architecturally broad and deep softwaresystems Engineering problems. You willown development of new components and features, from initial concepts throughdesign, implementation, test, and operation. Your intelligence and expertisewill result in a sense of accomplishment as you create new features as well asoversee their use by customers in a production environment. This is your chance to workon exciting new technology, on a new team in a hot market. Your work will be used by thousands ofcustomers and some of the most sophisticated Enterprises in the world.

Tasks:

* Work with SeniorArchitects and Product Managers to define requirements
* Work with the team todocument designs
* Implement high qualitycode, review code written by your peers
* Write test automationfor your code
* Share responsibilitywith other team members to deploy new code to production.
* Work with the team tooperate services that you have developed

Qualifications:

* 5+ years experience in the designand implementation of complex software systems
* Proven experience with amajor Object-Oriented Programming language such as Java or C++
* Understanding of datastructures and design patterns
* Aptitude for problemsolving
* Experience with RESTfulWeb Services or cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure a plus
* Experience withmassively scalable systems is a plus

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
