Our Applied Technology organization puts some of Motorola Solutions' brightest minds on unique, highly challenging projects. Based on decades of experience with our customers, we apply leading-edge technologies to support security and safety throughout the world. Job Description
The IT Systems Engineer will be responsible for supporting internal engineering teams and working with external solution partners to develop and maintain solutions that relate to business needs within our Applied Technology Department. This role will be responsible for creating, deploying, and maintaining network security in a highly controlled and regulated environment to meet government standards and regulations. To effectively perform these duties with Applied Technology you will be expected to conform to existing IT process methodologies and best practices. This position will also be assisting in the maintenance, design, and improvement of Applied Technologys network infrastructure.
Responsibilities
* Review security events from a variety of sources and identify security incidents and work with the appropriate subject matter experts to resolve security related issues
* Annual review and updating of System Security Plans (SSPs) and running regular scheduled security assessments against Applied Technology networks and systems
* Responsible for the day to day management of the organizations Antivirus (SEP), Endpoint DLP, and SIEM (Splunk) tool suites
* Responsible for running active Nessus Vulnerability scans and reacting to vulnerabilities and policy controls
* Assist and provide as a backup to the lead network engineer for all of the organizations networking infrastructure (Switches, Routers, Firewalls, etc)
* Main POC for all Incident Response and the triage and containment of all security incidents
* Monitor and maintain Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) tools for malicious activity
* Continually train and develop skills to stay current with the modern threat environments
* Assist in the organizations NIST/CMMC compliance and being a primary internal lead for CMMC/NIST audits
* Deploy patches and software updates via Microsoft SCCM to remediate risks and vulnerabilities.
* * Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related studies.
* Understanding of security and networking concepts and best practices
* 2 years background in installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise Security systems and Networking solutions
* Strong background in Linux and Windows based systems
* Strong experience with scripting languages needed for day-to-day management of systems and toolsets(Powershell, Batch, VB, querying)
* Ability to work independently and prioritize workload effectively and with attention to detail
* Highly disciplined person with very good troubleshooting and analytical skills
* Ability to interface with customers and internal teams effectively
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* The ability to learn new technologies
* Experience with Splunk is a plus
* Experience with IDS/IPS systems is a plus
* Ability to organize, prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines with a can-do attitude
* Ability to document systems and processes
