The Devices Supply Chain organization at Microsoft is seeking a Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM) focused on accesories program transitions. The PLM partners with our business groups, development teams, marketing teams, channel partners, and operations teams, worldwide, as the focal contact for various product programs.
The primary purpose of this role is to develop & operationalize plans to support the Launch and End of Life strategies of products in a way that is compliant, cost effective, and ensures a positive customer experience. The role has a significant impact in driving business growth & profitability by providing world class operational support.
The ideal candidate must combine strong analytical and organizational capabilities, have deep supply chain knowledge & a proven track record of improving business performance by driving cross-functional alignment & exerting influence in a matrixed organization.
* Manage supply chain readiness activities to support the product roadmap for a line of business. Drive early engagement with the business groups to ensure supply chain volume/cost/complexity tradeoffs are modeled to proactively shape the Go To Market plan & enable the best outcome for the business.
* Project manage all facets of program lifecycle from business concept to production and end of life, identifying requirements, capturing a working Plan of Record, driving change control, identifying risks and mitigation plans, managing issues and escalation, managing triage as necessary, leading cross group coordination, and tracking milestones and timelines.
* Proactively identify process improvements, system enhancements, and overall resource requirements to support new products/businesses. Provide overall program management to ensure that the improvements hit timelines and meet requirements.
* Build, develop, and maintain working relationships with a cross functional virtual team, facilitating proactive planning, communication, issue resolution as well as driving key decisions to ensure Plan of Record is established & attained.
* Provide updates on program status and drive decisions at lead-times to support the business.
* Own supply commitment (plan of record) to ensure the right product (sku) in the right place (geo, segment, channel) at the right time (cost, lifecycle)
* 8+ years of manufacturing and/or supply chain operations experience
* 3+ years of product launch management experience
* Exceptional ability to impact and influence business decisions and results where cross-boundary collaboration is required
* Demonstrated experience driving global programs while understanding the multicultural implications of global business and processes
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Solid analytical and problem resolution skills in an ambiguous environment
* Demonstrated ability to think strategically
* Extremely detail- and process-oriented
* Strong facilitation and consensus building skills.
Education:
* Bachelors degree in business, supply chain, operations management, or engineering
