Microsoft's hardware teams incubate advanced technologies and build deep partnerships with internal research, product planning, business and marketing teams. Responsibilities:

The Silicon Engineering and Solutions team is seeking passionate, driven and intellectually curious engineering leaders to build and lead our teams and projects. This new team will be involved in numerous projects within Microsoft developing custom silicon for a diverse set of systems. We are responsible for delivering cutting-edge, custom SoC designs that can perform complex and high-performance functions in the most efficient manner. This is a visible and high impact leadership role on the team, where you will:

* Drive and oversee the execution of the programs from conception to tapeout as well as from power-on to launch, connecting all the dependencies and moving parts together,

* Be responsible for the overall execution of the programs, including Landing Zone adherence, feasibility, schedule, quality and cost aspects,

* Ensure the successful implementation of Program Objectives. Develop schedules for program milestones, reviews, customer interfaces and internal milestone tracking,

* Apply your One Microsoft mentality to collaborate with and influence,

* Build, lead, and grow diverse and inclusive teams and provide both technical and non-technical leadership to them,

* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the team members in making high impact design choices and decisions throughout the development cycles,

* Apply your One Microsoft mentality to collaborate with and influence both internal and external partners providing leadership with integrity and respect,

* Partner with program stakeholders and customers to achieve common goals strengthening Microsoft's position across cloud computing.

Requirements:

* Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Masters preferred

* 8+ years of experience in CPU and SoC design including technical leadership roles, delivering successful products from conception to functional silicon for revenue

Preferred Qualifications:

* Solid background and understanding of Computer Architecture, CPU/SoC design, verification, validation and product engineering principles as part of CPU, SoC and/or IP development teams

* 5+ years building and managing CPU and SoC design execution, teams or equivalent functions
* Strong leadership skills and the ability to build diverse teams

* Excellent skills in all aspects of planning, cross-group collaboration, resource orchestration, communications, analytical capabilities and attention to detail

* Outstanding interpersonal skills, innovation, and the ability to motivate, inspire, and lead cross group/functional teams with a high degree of independence and success

* Proven track record of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts and ensuring follow through with exceptional verbal and written communication

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
