The Microsoft Azure Compute disks team builds the core infrastructure and APIs that power the Microsoft Azure platform. The team handles the compute cluster management of 1000s of physical host servers, 100,000s of virtual machines, REST interfaces to deploy and manage virtual machines, and the developer and ITPro experiences for the following Azure products: Managed Disks, Managed Images and Shared Image Gallery.

We are looking for an experienced, exceptional Lead Program Manager to set the vision and drive execution for the control plane of the Azure Compute disk services. In this role, you will need to excel at leading a team who will be working with partners in the core Azure team as well as other major products in the Cloud and Enterprise (C+E) division to deliver solutions for everyone from single developer startups to some of the largest companies in the world.

* Set the vision and drive experimentation/execution block storage products for Virtual Machines.
* Build and grow a strong team of program managers.
* Develop a deep understanding of how customers use the cloud/infrastructure services to architect their applications.
* Manage a complex and ambiguous project, with executive visibility and many critical dependencies.
* Work with top engineers across the division to translate the overall availability model into releases packed with customer value.
* Leverage market and business insights to direct investments to build the core Azure Compute business.
* Partner with Storage Engineering, Network Engineering, Business Planning, Finance, Product Marketing, and other stakeholders to deliver and grow the block storage offerings for Virtual Machines.

* 8+ years of industry experience in Program Management, Product Management, Business Management, Business Development, Consulting, Product Planning, Architecture, oru202Fotheru202Frelevant field.u202F
* Demonstrated interest and aptitude for managing, mentoring, and developing others.
* 1+ years of people management experience
* Excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiating skills.
* Both technically deep and business savvy enough to interface with all levels and disciplines within the organization, from engineers to executives
* Proven ability to prioritize, plan, and track large scale programs
* Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms and solutions recommended.
* BA/BS in computer science, compute engineering or relevant industry experience. Advanced technical degree or MBA a plus.
