This role will be part of Microsoft's US Delivery Center (USDC), located in Las Colinas, Texas. The USDC is focused on bringing our industrialized consulting services to US Public Sector and Commercial customers in regulated industries, with stringent data security and US citizenship requirements. Our goal is to help our customers transition to cloud in a cost effective and scalable manner.

Our Federal Consulting Services team serves a diverse customer base of agencies, program offices and national sites such as the Department of Justice (DOJ), various Federal law enforcement agencies, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Transportation Security Administration, US Customs and Border Protection and the Department of Energy (DOE).

The Delivery Manager within Microsoft Federal enables their team of Project Management professionals to succeed in delivering high quality Federal Customer outcomes across a range of technologies and agencies. They govern a portfolio of Federal engagements and are a key driver of the delivery lifecycle, using their executive expertise to remove barriers and deliver successful outcomes through the power of their team and as a primary escalation point. The Delivery Manager is a key Microsoft Consulting Services role in managing a successful business, maintaining portfolio health, and leading a team of Project Management professionals.

The Delivery Management Manager (DMM) is responsible for ensuring the project portfolio is proactively managed and executed effectively. The DMM will achieve this through Practice Management (encompassing business management practices such as planning, forecasting, governance, and cost management), Delivery Management (focused on continuous improvement across delivery fundamentals, including portfolio optimization) and by leading a team of Project Management professionals, providing them with thoughtful coaching, role readiness, career development and enrichment. Microsoft is looking for an experienced leader who can coach great performance and partner across organizational boundaries, to execute successful Digital Transformation projects with our Customers while achieving financial targets.

Practice Management

* Support monthly reporting of business metrics such as utilization, customer satisfaction, and backlog
* Proactively manage your portfolio using key reporting, insights, and tools to identify and mitigate risks and issues
* Partner across organizational boundaries to review and provide input into deal shaping, to ensure feasibility, delivery risk mitigation and Customer satisfaction

Delivery Management

* Partner across organizational boundaries to review and provide input into deal shaping, validating delivery feasibility, risk mitigation and ultimately Customer satisfaction
* Drive accurate Portfolio status reporting through your team and in partnership with internal quality functions
* Host delivery governance reviews across key deliveries
* Proactively manage Portfolio health and metrics using key reporting, insights, and tools to identify and mitigate risks and issues
* Act as primary Domain escalation point

Line Management

* All aspects of people and performance management for your team
* Foster an environment of diversity and inclusion, team collaboration and support
* Coach your team for both individual and team performance
* Ensure professional growth through personal development including critical role readiness and professional accreditation

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

* 4+ years of related experience in Professional Services delivery and/or delivery governance in the Federal IT space
* Bachelor's Degree (B.S./B.A.) in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent preferred
* PMP accreditation preferred
* Solid experience of Project and Program delivery mechanisms and methodologies
* Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
* People or Team Management experience
* Strong financial acumen
* Former exposure in Profit and Loss management preferred
* Ability to assimilate data and conduct analytics
* Executive maturity and ability to influence
* Problem solving, risk management, stakeholder management and escalation experience
* Ability to encourage teamwork and collaboration to drive business success and manage change

Travel requirements are less than 25%.

The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of US Citizenship to meet federal government security requirements.

Candidates must be willing to obtain and maintain an active TS and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph) or have an active TS/SCI and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph). This role will require candidates to maintain the TS/SCI (with polygraph) clearance.

Cloud Screening: Candidates must be able to successfully complete and pass a Microsoft Cloud background screening. Required Cloud Screenings will be administered on a recurring bi-annual basis.
