As an Auto Mechanic/Dismantler at LKQ you must have the ability to identify high value parts and dismantle them from vehicles. Also, as an Auto Mechanic/Dismantler at LKQ you are responsible for and must be able to drop subframe and remove motor mounts to remove high value parts.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Demonstrate the ability to identify high value parts and dismantle from vehicles.
2. Must be able to drop subframe and remove motor mounts to remove high value parts.
3. Guidance in identifying high value parts will be provided.
4. Drain, Process and package, high value parts, such as engines, transmissions, alternators, starters, a/c compressors, rack & pinions, in a manner that prevents breakage.
5. Proficiently uses tools, such as Sawzalls, impact wrenches, and hand tools required for removing automotive parts.
6. Completes computerized or handwritten reports as required.
7. Abide by the company policies such as attendance, safety, processes, teamwork, training, etc.
8. Individual may be required to operate forklift to move parts and pallets.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent desired and at least one year of technical training in automotive technologies, ASE Certification preferred.

Must be familiar with automotive tools, parts and methods.

Must be attentive to detail and ensure accuracy in work assignments.

Must be able to communicate effectively with others.

Must have the ability work variable schedules, including some weekends.

This position requires the ability to stand the majority of the day. Must be able to lift 75lbs or more and be able to tolerate working at heights. Will be working outdoors and will be subject to all weather conditions. While performing duties of this job, employee will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. moderately loud noise and dust is to be expected.

Rhiag has operations in Italy, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Hungary, Romania, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Poland and Spain. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first half of 2016 and is subject to customary closing conditions and necessary regulatory approvals.
