The Robotics Coordinator, in collaboration with the Director of Surgical Services, is responsible for coordinating the clinical and administrative aspects of the Surgical Robotic Program. The Robotic Coordinator is a Registered Nurse, Certified First Assistant, or Certified Surgical Technician. The RN, CFA, or CST is responsible for ordering and maintaining specific instruments, accessories and ancillary supplies related to robotic surgery and assisting in the management of inventory and PAR levels. Under the supervision of the operating surgeon, functions as the registered nurse, first assistant, or surgical technician in robotic surgery for all surgical specialties demonstrating thorough knowledge of the surgery, anticipating next steps with expert didactic skills.

Job Requirements

Associate of Science in Nursing. Completed formal Surgical Technician program with certification or equivalent training. Minimum 3 years of current Operating Room experience, scrubbing, and circulating in an acute care hospital. Certified First Assistant or Certified Surgical Technician with a minimum of 2 years of current assisting in robotic cases. Minimum of 2 years of current experience in minimally invasive surgical procedures. Basic Life Support (BLS). National certification as a Surgical/First Assist, or National certification as a Surgical Technician, or Current and valid VA state RN license.Knowledge of surgical terminology, equipment, materials, and policies/procedures (sterile protocol/OR attire), and the fundamental methods relating to surgery. Demonstrates basic knowledge of data collection, research protocols, etc. Demonstrated leadership ability and collaborative skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Excellent verbal, written, and intrapersonal communication skills.

Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing. CNOR.
