Position Summary
Provide leadership and mentorship to a cross-functional agile team. Guide and facilitate projects involving large, complex technology and business oriented solutions, through effective application of the agile based SDLC (Software Delivery Life Cycle) and associated ceremonies and events. Essential Job Functions

* Lead multiple agile teams and drive Kroger's agile transformation across the enterprise
* Facilitate team organization and ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily scrums/stand-ups, sprint/iteration reviews/demos and retrospectives)
* Promote and demonstrate core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability and visibility
* Facilitate the creation and adoption of working agreements and definitions of done, including the use of appropriate tools, standards and best practices
* Ensure the Kroger Technology team tracks and communicates team progress and metrics to the appropriate audiences
* Facilitate and enable an environment of collaboration and creativity
* Support and empower the team to make appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition
* Support/empower the Kroger Technology team to make appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition
* Challenge and enable the Kroger Technology team to continuously improve through intentional Lean and data driven inspect and adapt cycles (retrospectives)
* Protect the Kroger Technology team from uncontrolled injection of work, and ensure changes are evaluated/intentional
* Define and promote quality practices to ensure components, services and applications delivered by the Kroger Technology team meet performance expectations, allow for graceful degradation and are appropriately scalable (vertical or horizontal) for Kroger's expected growth pattern
* Identify and remove any impediments/distractions that interfere with the team's ability to deliver against their commitments
* Recommend improvements and assist in changes to best practices
* Serve as a Lead Scrum Master to mentor and guide more associate scrum masters, scrum masters or consultant in the scrum master role
* Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

Minimum Position Qualifications

* Professional Scrum Master certification, Scrum Master certification
* 4+ years of scrum master experience
* 4+ years of experience in an agile environment in other roles; such as quality assurance, development, product owner, or as an agile coach
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
* Demonstrated leadership ability to coach and mentor the team to reach their highest potential; excellent team player and team builder
* Ability to work with all levels of the organization
* Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with diverse personality types
* Ability to understand technical issues at a high level and communicate agile methodologies within the organization
* Exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills

Desired Previous Experience/Education

* 4+ years of experience in a software development organization
* Any knowledge and practical experience of the Lean methodology, principles and tools
* Any Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) experience
* Certified scrum trainer
* Bachelor's Degree in a business or technology-related program
