As a Project Manager on our team in San Carlos, CA, you'll have the opportunity to support a project management team so we can shape lasting solutions for the future. We'll ask you to draw from your past experience to manage capital improvement projects of a major transit and transportation agency. As a team member supporting various large-scale transportation projects under the general direction of our client's Director of Capital Program Delivery, you may also perform civil design calculations, cost estimates, inspections, technical reviews and other construction contract administration functions.
Specifically, the scope of services for this position includes managing the overall scope, schedule and budget of the Caltrain Automated Passenger Counter and Visual Message Sign projects, including:
Working with different stakeholders to understand the scope of work, budget and schedule for the projects. Stakeholders include internal stakeholders, the cities and other public agencies.
Developing different work directives for design and construction of the projects.
Working with Contracts & Procurement to issue the work directives and contracts.
Communicating with different internal stakeholders/customers to inform them and satisfy their requirements.
Managing the different work directives and contracts. The work directives may be for design or construction/implementation. Reviewing and approving invoices for the work directives.
Managing and coordinating any construction or implementation in the field. Working with the contractor and the construction management team. Conducting field testing and ensuring everything is working as intended.
Ensuring the projects are completed on time and within the assigned budget.
Closing out all work directives and projects.
The Project Manager will be a full-time position. The Project Manager is required to work on-site at the client's headquarters office in San Carlos, CA when the COVID work restrictions are lifted. Until then, the Project Manager will work from an off-site office. The Project Manager will be required to attend all the project meetings and other activities for the projects' business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
Prior experience in a construction environment
Familiarity with Microsoft Suite and pdf editors (Bluebeam preferred)
Rail experience is a plus
Perform engineering responsibilities with a moderate degree of independence
Ideally, you'll also have:
Prior experience on local, state and/or federal projects
Knowledge of and experience with RFI's and Change Orders through use of Construction Administration tools like Procore
Master's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
