The transaction will enhance the resources and potential of the business' storage solutions, including client and enterprise SSDs, in the rapidly growing NAND Flash space amid the era of big data.

As a Data Center NAND SSD Product Development Engineer INTERN, you will be part of a world-class team that will transition to lead the SSD business at SK Hynix.
Candidates being hired for Phase 2:

This position aligns to Phase 2 of the transaction, which includes NAND technology and component development along with fab operations. Employees aligned to Phase 2 will continue to be employed by Intel and will continue to develop NAND technology and components and manufacture NAND wafers at the fab. Phase 2 of the transaction is expected to close in March 2025, at which time employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition employment to SK hynix.

We are seeking college interns to join the Intel Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group (NSG) team on the next generation of Intel's industry-leading Solid State Drives (SSDs). As an SSD Product Development Engineer you will be working closely at various discipline. Responsibilities may be quite diverse of a technical nature. U.S. experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job.

Your responsibilities will be with one of the functional teams but are not limited to the following:

* SSD System Integration and Engineering

* SSD Product Modeling/Simulation

* NVMe Media Integration with SSD Systems and Media Failure Analysis

* SSD Competitive/Comparative Analysis

* Debug/Triage, Data collection/analysis/reporting

* Develop/verify scripts/tools for automation

* Identify, validate and debug various SSD issues i.e. Media, FW, SW and HW issues

* Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Candidate must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be compensated accordingly. Length of internship will be a minimum of 3 moths and can be extended to 6 or 9 months based on business needs.

This position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship. Intel sponsors individuals for employment-based visas for positions where we experience a shortage of US Workers. These skills shortage roles are typically STEM contributing positions requiring a Master's or PhD degree, or a Bachelors degree with three years related job experience. This position does not qualify for Intel Sponsorship because it is either (1) a non-STEM contributing position, or (2) a STEM position that only requires a Bachelors degree and less than three years experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must be pursuing a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

3+ months of experience in the following areas:

* Programming and scripting (C++, Perl, Python)

* Developing and debugging code on Windows and Linux platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

3+ months of experience in the following areas:

* Object oriented programming

* OS, BIOS, and Hardware and Software interactions

* Using version control tools such as GIT

* System level knowledge, computer architecture, data structures/analysis

* Prior Intern Experiences on relevant areas/roles
