Come and join us for a summer Internship. Intel is seeking highly motivated students to join the BXD (Barefoot Switching Division) in our Data Platform Group (DPG) as a summer Intern. We are a vibrant team which helps drive Intel's programmable switching technology and products to position Intel Tofino as the switching platform of choice and for the Cloud, Data Center, Enterprise and Telco network deployments.

This position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship. Intel sponsors individuals for employment-based visas for positions where we experience a shortage of US Workers. These skills shortage roles are typically STEM contributing positions requiring a Master's or PhD degree, or a Bachelors degree with three years related job experience. This position does not qualify for Intel Sponsorship because it is either (1) a non-STEM contributing position, or (2) a STEM position that only requires a Bachelors degree and less than three years experience.

Responsibilities:
As a Summer Intern on our Network Applications team, you will be responsible for research, development or test of a component of our system, based on your experience and interest. You will pair up with a team member to identify and develop an execution plan for your project.

Qualifications

You must possess minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Requirements:
The candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor / Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 6+ months experience in:

* C/C++ programming language
* Working in a Linux/Unix environment
* Python scripting

Preferred Qualifications:
6+ months experience in:

* L2/L3 networking protocols
* Embedded systems projects or course work.
