We use state of the art highspeed cold forming equipment to produce blind installed threaded inserts and studs.

Position Summary

AVK is looking for a full time Heading Operator Level 1 to join our team. Level one heading machine operators work under direct supervision to interpret basic work instructions and safely operate basic heading machines that have been set up for production such as nonprogressive cold headers to produce simple single diameter components such as AS series stems. Level one operators will also complete in process inspection duties using micrometers and calipers, etc. This role requires competencies in basic shop math, basic print reading and a basic mechanical aptitude. 01 years

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
Adheres to quality processes including inprocess inspection to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
Correctly interpret work orders
Lift up to 35lbs
Work in a team environment, i.e. follow instructions and assist others as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Reads job order for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, number of parts to be machined, cutting speeds, and feed rates.
Using setups performed by others runs jobs per specifications of work order
Perform minor preventive maintenance and tool replacements
Loads wire stock into feeding mechanism.
Starts machine, observes operation, and inspects first run and sample workpiece to ensure machining conforms to specifications.

Experience & Education

Typically 01 Years of Experience
GED or High school diploma preferred but not required

Required Skills

The ability to read and write English.
Basic print reading & inspection processes
Basic familiarity of header tooling & equipment (Progressive & NonProgressive)
Basic knowledge of wire material & coatings
Basic trouble shooting
Basic knowledge of product (Design & Performance)
