Microns Supply Chain teams span the globe and as an intern you will interface with, and learn the cultures of, those global operations.
At Micron, a global semiconductor company, you will learn Supply Chain processes and systems across the following functions: New Product Planning, Sales and Operations Planning, Global Supply Management, and Demand Management. You will have the opportunity to make a difference in Microns Supply Chain performance as you lead a project and provide recommendations in how to increase efficiency and effectiveness. This experience will provide opportunities to collaborate cross-functionally to not only influence within the Supply Chain team, but also across Microns Value Chain. As a Product Operations Management Intern at Micron, you will work on projects related to sample management and HVM readiness for new products. The balance of buffers and expedites vs product development cost and schedule is a critical relationship and your work will help you learn to understand this relationship as well as drive improvements for the business. You will work on and coordinate one or more projects within this domain. You will use your previous work experience, academic studies, and common sense to analyze business needs to perform and complete this work.
Responsibilities:
* Utilize academic standard methodologies to improve our current processes and help Micron improve upon inventory and service level performance
* Develop understanding of Microns Supply Chain processes and roles through business process analysis and interactions with various stakeholders
* Collaborate with the Supply Chain and extended Value Chain partners through root cause analysis and evaluation of existing processes
* Provide recommendations and proposals to Supply Chain leaders on suggested improvements or efficiencies
* Lead at least one project of meaningful impact to Micron
Qualifications:
Successful candidates for this position will have:
* Ability to work in Boise, Idaho for the summer
* Strong background in problem-solving capabilities
* Experience with using metrics and process analysis techniques to measure work
* Strong interpersonal skills (verbal, written and presentation)
* Ability to work within and across teams
* Minimum GPA of 3.50
Education:
Currently pursuing B.B.A. degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Students seeking M.S. in Supply Chain Management. M.S. in Industrial Engineering, or an M.B.A. are preferred
