The Role
We have a great opportunity for Senior API developer to join the growing Annuities IT organization at Lincoln Financial Group to build next generation application solutions to help our customers achieve their financial goals and objectives. This Sr. Application Developer position will provide subject matter expertise and direction on complex projects/initiatives to build new features and capabilities through an API & microservices layer to integrate with existing systems and to automate transaction processing for Annuity business. They will develop innovative complex business solutions by creating new applications, modifying existing applications and providing post production support (as necessary) They will deliver more complex business application software solutions following an Agile development life cycle process. They will be responsible for partnering with the Annuities business, Enterprise Architecture, Application Development (Build), Maintenance and Support (Run), Managed Service Providers and Infrastructure teams on the development of strategies and solutions to deliver quality solutions to help achieve Business and IT strategic goals.

* Design reusable assets, components, standards, frameworks, and processes to support and facilitate API and integration projects
* Ensures the consistency and maintainability of software solutions by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing the technical solutions
* Develop solutions to proactively monitor integration platform, message queue, applications, and APIs
* Conduct design & architecture reviews, gap analysis and assessment when required
* Advise technical teams on performance, scalability, reliability, monitoring and other operational concerns of integration solutions
* Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.

Education
* 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelors)_Minimum Required in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience
Experience
* 10+ years of complete SDLC experience with minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Senior Developer/Lead or similar position
* Minimum 3 years of experience in transforming complex strategic business requirements/plans into workable technology solutions
* 3+ years of hands-on experience in designing, testing, development, implementing and supporting solutions on MuleSoft & Anypoint (or similar tools)
* Experience with microservice design (Service-Oriented Architecture) and RESTful APIs
* Experience with JAVA (Spring), Docker, Python, Node.js, HTML, Javascript, CSS, Angular JS, XML, XSL, XQuery, SOAP, JSON, Git, Gitlab
* Experience writing Unit Tests and tools (e.g. Postman and JUnit)
* Experience developing software leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS)
* Participating as a team member on an agile product delivery team and within an agile team, demonstrate leadership, be a technical expert, strategic, and present to Leadership
* Experience with Continuous Integration/Delivery and DevOps
* Creative, Innovative, thought leader who can create a culture of learning and sharing
* Excellent written and oral communication skills with clearly communicate designs, thoughts, and ideas and ability to adjust the communications based on the audience
