Job Description:
Due to an upcoming retirement, L3Harris CPS is currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill the Plant Manager position in our growing business base environment. This critical role will report directly to the Director of Operations and will be responsible for overseeing all Manufacturing, Facilities, Maintenance and Environmental Health and Safety. The Plant Manager, along with the support of a well-qualified team of direct reports, will drive efficiency targets, meet production and delivery schedules, set and maintain budgets and ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
Essential Functions:
* Direct and coordinate with Team Leaders and the respective team of operators to ensure attainment of the Master Production schedule
* Enforce of Health and Safety Policy and management of preventative measures to favorably impact the safety record
* Work with Human Resources to plan for proper staffing, training and cross-training for all employees within Operations including approximately 100 hourly production workers on a 2-shift operation
* Coordinating with Continuous Improvement for 5S efforts and improvement projects, including cost savings targets
* Manage all aspects of approximately $8M annual indirect expense budget
* Work with Team Leaders and support groups to achieve direct labor efficiency targets
* Ensure compliance to quality standards, completion of audits and improving quality metrics
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's Degree in Production and Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or similar discipline
* Minimum of 12 years of prior related experience
* Strong background in Lean Manufacturing
* Ability to participate in cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain) to solve manufacturing issues
* Requires ability to communicate effectively with broad cross-section of employees
Preferred Additional Skills:
* Experience in a union manufacturing strongly preferred.
* Excellent written and verbal skills, good interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, negotiations and time management skills (see job description and essential functions)
* Demonstrated ability to manage in a union-represented environment including interaction with union leadership
