Director, Engineering Fall Protection

Lead, develop and motivate a talented engineering team responsible for the development of Honeywell's Fall Protection products. You will leverage your technical experience and skills to guide your team in the investigation and solution of challenging technical problems. You will use your leadership abilities to motivate and energize teams that are designing new or modifying existing products, parts, or processes while using advanced standards, methodologies, and tools. By collaborating with customers and broader engineering teams, you will balance team workload and drive exceptional team performance with high impact for the business.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and build a high performing engineering organization that creates and delivers innovative Fall Protection solutions
* Lead the team through an Agile, Customer-Focused NPI process (MVOs), which result in Flawless Launches
* Partner with the business leaders to define and execute growth opportunities for the Fall Protection line of business
* Optimize MOS to deliver on our commitments (On-Time, On-Spec, and On-Cost) to drive growth and portfolio simplification
* Mentor and coach talent as well as develop career and succession plans
* Address Technical Resource Review skill-set gaps, and foster a culture of DFSS
* Define and manage Product and Technology Roadmaps
* Accountable for Industrial Fall Protection AOP and STRAP

20% travel required

YOU MUST HAVE

* 3+ years of global engineering leadership experience
* 7+ years of new product development experience
* Bachelors Degree in Engineering

* Significant experience in Fall Protection or in a related area
* Able to thrive in a results-oriented environment
* Able to navigate and execute quickly in a regulated environment (e.g., CSA, ATEX/IECEx, TUV)
* Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to foster a culture of 8-D / 5-Why Analysis to ensure that appropriate corrective and preventative actions are put in place
* Able to lead by example, maintain a positive attitude, big-picture perspective, and personal accountability
* Strong people (Engineering team) management and development skills, experience improving team performance through coaching
* Market focused mindset and ability to anticipate changes in customer's needs
* Advanced degree in Engineering or related field, business degree is a plus
