Job Description
Role
We are seeking a creative thinker who can understand complex business processes surrounding Capital/Engineering Projects (budget/forecast/spend) as well as Fixed Assets. An Accounting or Finance background is strongly preferred. The applicant will be responsible for gathering and translating business requirements, developing a deep understanding of GMs business processes surrounding the ITD space and have a good technical understanding of SAP. The applicant must be able to learn on the fly, manage competing priorities and work effectively and efficiently cross functionally.
Role Responsibilities
* Gather business requirements and translate them into a system solution
* Develop a UAT testing plan as well as manage it through execution
* Develop and deliver training where necessary
* Gain a deep technical understanding of Invest-to-Divest business processes and how it integrates with other areas at GM
* Assist end users with questions or system break/fixes
* Work with the business to streamline and increase efficiencies in business processes
Role Qualifications
* Bachelors degree with a major in accounting, business administration, information systems or finance.
* Understand basic data flows and relational databases
* Minimum of 5 years business experience
* 2 or more years of experience in SAP
* Ability to translate business requirements into system functionality
* Complex problem solving and analytical abilities
* Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated commitment to teamwork
* Advanced Excel skills including vlookups, pivot tables, if/then statements, concatenation, etc.
* Strong oral, written and presentation skills
* Ability to learn on the fly and quickly turn around the required deliverable
* Self-starter
Preferred Role Qualifications
* SAP Invest to Divest experience
* Deep understanding of Capital/Engineering accounting including CWIP and capitalization
* Knowledge of Financial Reporting
