Job Description

This role is responsible for directing a team of agents, specialists, and an Operations Manager who guide the direction of how Etsys seller anti-fraud strategy is crafted, communicated, and enforced.

You will chart the course for both individuals on the team and the seller risk program - ensuring both are equipped to evolve and scale with the Etsy marketplace.

This full-time role reports to the Director of Seller Integrity and is based either in Hudson or Brooklyn, NY. Hudson location is preferred. Remote employment may be considered as long as you can travel to both the Hudson and Brooklyn locations.

About the Role

* Develop ongoing strategies to quickly and efficiently identify and remove fraudulent sellers from the marketplace, minimizing negative impact to Etsy and our buyers.
* Set long-term strategy and guide team members to execute on that vision through daily, weekly, and monthly initiatives.
* Partner with Engineering and Analytics teams to conceptualize and refine automated detective controls crafted to identify risks, based on seller behavioral shifts and patterns.
* Work with team analysts to set SLAs and performance expectations to both meet incoming risks and maintain a robust enforcement operation.
* Support your team as well as partner teams (the T&S organization, Policy, Legal, Member Services, Customer Resolution Engineering, Risk Engineering, FP&A, etc.) in solving problems and removing obstacles.
* Travel between Brooklyn and Hudson, NY two to three times per month (travel currently suspended) to ensure that relationships are supported.

Qualifications

* 5+ years of people management with a demonstrated ability in policy enforcement and/or fraud or risk mitigation, preferably in e-commerce.
* Experience mitigating risks with a calculated combination of artificial intelligence and human review, working closely with Legal and Risk Engineering as necessary.
* Extensive experience solving problems with data, Looker and/or SQL proficiency a plus.
* Travel between Brooklyn and Hudson, NY.
* Steady leadership, seeking to empower others when tasked with sophisticated challenges.
* Comfortable providing and receiving feedback as an everyday practice.
* Proven track record to approach obstacles with curiosity and use creative problem solving methods to find quick and effective solutions.
* Ability to maintain composure and optimism in high stress situations.
* Outstanding communication and social skills, with the ability to influence multiple partners at various levels and subject areas
* Ability to gather and utilize data to make decisions
* Excellent written and presentation skills
