Manager, Business Development - AFP/CI

The Business Development Manager will be part of the Corporate Development group supporting AFP & CIs, business development and corporate development activities. Key responsibilities would include leading and supporting key business development initiatives for AFP & CI businesses focused on driving strategic growth across our global businesses, primarily inorganic in nature Candidate will be an integral member of teams assisting VP/GMs and business leadership teams (BLTs) teams, in exploring and implementing opportunities to drive growth initiatives through effective identification and execution of inorganic and strategic partnership initiatives

The business development will support all aspects of progressing AFP & CI business development initiatives in a dedicated, diligent, and collaborative manner. An important component of the AFP & CI BD Manager role will be to assist the business leadership teams on building a robust pipeline of inorganic options, prepare business case for identified opportunities, drive due diligence process, structure and lead negotiation discussions on strategic partnerships and lead/drive integration process

Selected candidate will be assigned several business development projects across the AFP and CI portfolio that includes, strategic partnership initiatives (Sourcing/AMS/Technical/ Strategic collaboration), merger/acquisition projects and portfolio optimization initiatives Over time, it is expected that the BD manager, depending on interest, passion, and ability will have opportunities for career advancement in AFP business management, Corporate Strategy, Corporate Development or other areas of within Eastman.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as integral member of deal teams executing a broad range of business development initiatives, joint venture, acquisitions, and divestitures for AFP/ Eastman globally
Provide thought leadership to AFP & CI business leadership on inorganic playbook development and prioritization
Work collaboratively within AFP and CI BLT teams to prepare business cases supporting strategic and financial choice-making by AFP BLTS and senior management
Lead/ participate on Corporate M&A , JV or strategic alliance initiatives
Construct detailed financial models, perform complex valuation analysis and develop business case presentations for internal approvals and external negotiations
Where appropriate, collaborate or lead deal negotiations especially on strategic partnership and small/mid-size deals
Research, track, analyze M&A and capital markets activity relevant to Eastman and look for strategic bolt-on opportunities for Eastman
Qualifications

Education:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university required
MBA or Marketing, Finance, graduate degree preferred but not required
Ability to do valuation and understanding of advance financial/deal principles is required
Experience:
3 to 5 years experience in business management, corporate finance, corporate strategy or corporate development group of a leading corporation
Experience in other analytical / business roles (marketing, sales, accounting, finance) will also be relevant
