Job Overview
Facilities Technicians oversee some building maintenance. They will handle the fabrication of paint projects, including selection and preparation. Technicians also need to have an understanding of basic painting. This career requires good mechanical aptitude, analytical skills, and the ability to work with one's hands.
Shift & Schedule:
This full-time position will be based at our Ottumwa, IA facility. The schedule will be Monday - Friday from approximately 6:00am - 2:30pm CST. Additional flexibility to work overtime according to changing business needs, including potential weekends and/or holidays, is required as scheduled.
Compensation:
The starting pay rate for this position is $17/hour. Attractive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k, etc.) is also available.
What you will do:
* Provide preventative painting maintenance support for plant equipment
* Maintain safe, clean work areas and comply with all company safety requirements
* Participate on improvement teams and coordinate with engineers and vendors on special projects
* Perform minor painting, patching floors (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes.
* This may entail painting areas throughout out the facility.
* Perform support in repackage area by restacking product on pallets redistribute back to warehouse, Recycle Room help recycle. This person will be trained in these areas.
* Prepares the surfaces and paints various structures and equipment (e.g. walls, machines, floors, doors, restroom facilities, etc.) to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion and maintain a safe, comfortable working environment using various painting equipment and related tools (e.g. sprayers, rollers, brushes, thinners, etc.)
* Work directly with and for Warehouse Supervisor on projects that may arise.
* Follow all GMP guidelines, long pants, shirts with sleeves, bump cap, safety glasses. (Company provides).
* Performs other work related duties as assigned
* Follow all Keurig Dr Pepper policies and procedures
Requirements
What you must have:
* Must have experience in painting, painting projects, and knowledge of different types of paint and cleaners.
* Must have experience painting, and masonry work, patching floors (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes.)
* Must be able to work flexible hours
* Experience in a manufacturing facilities environment preferred.
* At least 1 year of previous sit-down forklift experience is highly preferred.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Must be customer service oriented
* Ability to use common tools
* Ability to work with minimal supervision
* Ability to work at heights above 20 feet including on ladders and lifts
* Ability to lift 50-70
* Ability to climb ladder and step ladder, will train on scissor lift, past experience is desired.
* Ability to constantly lift, bend, stretch and stand during entire shift.
* Bending at the waist, sitting, kneeling, laying horizontally, climbing, walking, etc., as job may require Extreme heat or cold and inclement weather
* Ability to work with cleaning solutions, gasoline, kerosene, de-greasers, lubricants, paints, and solvents
* Ability to push/pull up to 1,500 pounds using supplied equipment
* Noise level which may, at times, require normal hearing protection in the form of ear plugs
