We are looking for a intern developer with knowledge in coding to support our Data Center Operations (DCOps) team. This position will be designing and developing web applications and web services (HTTP protocol, HTML 5, REST, SOAP, MVC, ASP.NET Web API, JavaScript, OData, etc). This position will gain you the experience to configure, maintain, and contribute to software version control systems and development within a group-developer environment. You will also contribute and coordinate corresponding testing and release management activities in a group developer environment. As a intern we will mentor and provide you direction for developing your skills in regards to software development approach and execution. You will get to explore, design-to, develop-to, and test-to requirements with supervision and feedback on a daily basis. Ability to design and develop User-Interface components, background services, rows and columns solutions, and target multiple platforms from a common code-base. Primary applications of note are NLyte (DCIM) and PowerIQ (Power Mgmt).

In the end you will become responsible for definition, implementation and optimization of tools to support Data Center Operations (DCOps) team in support of Data Center Operations. You will work with management and business teams to help identify significant process automation & optimization opportunities that will enable DCOPS to establish more capable and reliable tools to support operational activities. You will be responsible for aligning to different business functions, which may result in focus on a particular business area for a period of time. The perfect candidate is one that does not shy away from creativity and innovation.

We have a number of opportunities in our pipeline for development from additional feature adds to existing tools, Asset labeling and Audit tools for datacenters, Workflow Management through task status and updates as well as end to end inventory control of assets in the life cycle.

Essential Functions (Tasks and Responsibilities)

Enthusiastic enough to Define/document business requirements, business rules and metrics to achieve to be state

Ability to Create and Review technical approach and design documentation

A desire to build dynamic and rich dashboards for conducting and monitoring business.

Collaborate with DCOPS groups globally to define roadmap to reach to-be state.

Document usage scenarios for DCOps teams to execute against

Work with DCOps organization to gather requirements and complaints regarding the tools and develop action plans to address the issues.

Work with other organizations to gather requirements for data access needs and act as a liaison between them and the vendor(s).

Qualifications & Experience

Basic or strong desire to become a developer

Passion for Process Re-engineering, Process Optimization, Process Standardization and Automation

Ability to effectively communicate with management

Able to operate in an agile environment

You should be a self-starter and motivated individual

Experience in developing and presenting status, issues, and decisions to management

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Data Center hardware awareness a plus
