X-Rite Pantone recognized nationally as a Best & Brightest Company to Work For, is seeking a Paint Lab Colorist to join our team in Grand Rapids, Michigan! You will enjoy formulating and producing color standard products.
As a Paint Lab Colorist, you will:
* To ensure the accurate production and quality of Munsell paint products for standard products and technical service work
* To provide the technical and project information that is needed by internal/external customers, sales, and customer service departments.
* Maintain inventory levels of Supplies (colorants, raw materials, and supplies used in the color matching process)
* Responsible for care and maintenance of equipment
Your Education and/or Background Experience will include:
* High school diploma or GED. Education or experience in Graphic Design or Color Theory is preferred, not required.
* 1-2 years of paint mixing experience is preferred.
* Pass the Farnsworth Munsell Color Test with a score of 20 or less.
* Basic functionality of Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel and Word programs).
* Ability to work with paint (Nitrocellulose) and paint materials (latex & Paint Solvents).
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-task environment meeting all production standards and times with a high attention to detail, accuracy and orderliness.
* Communication skills, written and verbal among team members (including internal customers), should be excellent!
* Familiarity with use of precision instrumentation and measurement (example: weight per gallon instrumentation).
* Ability to lift heavy objects: 25 pounds routinely, up to 70 pounds occasionally.
* Ability to stand and walk up to 100% of the day.
