Job Overview/Summary

The supervisor, Sanitation is responsible for directing and coordinating activities related to ensuring compliance to sanitation policies and government regulations, implementation of programs such as sanitation, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), pest control, landscaping of the facility and enforcement of policies related to chemical use, safety practice and procedures in the facility. The supervisor, Sanitation ensures that policy requirements are translated to specific local programs including standard work. Identifies resource needs and provides the necessary staff training to efficiently and effectively execute their sanitation responsibilities. Leads continuous improvement of sanitation programs and best in class cost of sanitation. This position is also responsible for the implementation and execution of the company Sanitation Management System at the plant level.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

* Ensure sanitation of the manufacturing facility including the plant, offices and landscaping.
* Coordinate work activities to ensure that personnel maintain physical plant (internal/external) in a clean and sanitary condition; Organize, plan and prioritize work assignments; Inspect work performed to ensure that it meets specifications and established GMP standards.
* Develop, manage and perform Master Sanitation schedule; Develop and maintain facility management schedule.
* Establish, implement and train on standard operations procedures (SOPs) for the department.
* Make sure the facility complies with local regulations inspections and insurance information.
* Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facility in order to determine the type of work required.
* Select the most suitable cleaning materials for different types of surfaces.
* Instruct staff on related work policies/procedures and the use of maintenance equipment.
* Issue supplies and equipment to workers.
* Recommend or arrange for additional services such as painting, core repair work, renovations, and the replacement of furnishings and equipment.
* Recommend changes that could improve service and increase operational efficiency.
* Regularly review inventory stock to ensure that supplies and equipment are available in adequate amounts.

Key Skills, Abilities and Experience Required

Required Education and Experience:

* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
* Minimum 3 years operational experience in sanitation, pest control and scheduling or related experience and/or training.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Knowledge of sanitation chemical application programs.
* Basic computer skills. Knowledge of cGMP's, microbiology and analytical testing.
* Knowledge of government regulatory documentation requirements for Cosmetics
* Knowledge of sanitation in a GMP regulated plant
* Knowledge of CIP and COP operations
* Knowledge of pathogen environmental monitoring
* Knowledge of sanitation practices and procedures in a manufacturing plant
* Knowledge of cleaning verification and validation
* Strong problems solving skills, issue resolution and root cause analysis
* Strong written and verbal business communication skills
* Strong interpersonal skills. Proven strong relationship skills to achieve sustainable partnerships and collaboration internally and externally.
