Job Description:
The Talent Management Architect Workday plays an essential role in support of Caterpillars business and talent imperatives. The Architect will leverage her / his commercial knowledge and technical expertise to influence career progression, talent and succession planning and performance management strategies, optimize practices, and architect Workday solutions that support business priorities. The successful candidate will partner with business leaders and HR professionals to identify current and future enhancements to talent management related processes and solutions, configure them within Workday, and partner on change management and implementation communications to Caterpillars global recruiting organization.
Responsibilities included, but are not limited to:
* Understands and has working knowledge of career progression, talent and succession planning and performance management and related data and reporting needs.
* Collaborate with users and stakeholders to gather requirements for Workday enhancements
* Support the configuration of the Talent Management and Recruiting Workday Modules for the Caterpillar enterprise.
* Recommend Workday technical solutions considering business priorities and tradeoffs while gaining alignment among stakeholders
* Participate as a member of the Workday Governance Council and supporting the development and management of the Workday functionality adoption roadmap to ensure alignment to Talent Managements strategy and key initiatives
* Manage implementation/enhancement projects, build and execute detailed implementation plans, including design, QA/test, deploy, communications / training and support components
* Partner with the centralized Workday team to troubleshoot and resolve Workday issues
* Provide support to HR teams by analyzing user issues and resolving them via technical solution and/or process re-engineering
* Identify opportunities to enhance Workday via the semi-annual release
* Lead the change management efforts on new implementations
* Consult with business and process owners to understand the business case for development requests, process improvements, new interfaces, and enhancements
* Build relationships with People team stakeholders to understand business needs and translate these into system and reporting requirements
Basic Requirements:
* 3-5+ years of Workday configuration experience
* 3-5+ years of functional experience in career progression, talent and succession planning and performance management
* Deep understanding of the latest trends in the Talent Management and HR technology landscapes
Top Candidates will also have:
* Management experience
* A willingness to obtain Workday certification
* The ability to understand HR strategic intent and develop solutions that align with the strategic direction
* Strong analytic and diagnostic skills as well as a data-driven solutioning approach
* The ability to influence and work effectively with business partners globally
* Success working within a large matrix organization across functions and with senior leaders in the organization
* Strong planning and organizational skills
* Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects with minimal supervision and within multiple time constraints.
* A process-oriented mindset and experience with process improvement methodologies
