Operations Research Analyst

Key Role

Conduct logical analyses of management problems and management information requirements, then formulate mathematical models of problems for solution by computer in support of a DoD client. Prepare mathematical models of problem areas in one or several equations that relate constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives, and their numerical parameters. Gather, relate, and identify data with variables in models by applying personal judgment and mathematical tests. Review operations and testing of models to ensure adequacy or determine needs for reformulation. Prepare written nontechnical reports for management, indicating solution or range of possible alternatives in rank of desirability and probability of success.

Basic Qualifications:

* 5+ years of experience with statistics, operations research, advanced mathematics, optimization, modeling and simulation, prediction, estimation, decision analysis, and engineering management
* Ability to document approaches and present results to senior leadership, both technical or nontechnical audiences, to drive decision-making
* Ability to use Excel, Access, PowerBI, and other tools to collect, transform, model, visualize, and analyze data
* Secret clearance
* BA or BS degree

Additional Qualifications:

* Experience with programming languages or analytical software suites, such as Python, Tableau, SAS, SPSS, S+, R, MATLAB, Palisade, Arena Simulation, or LINDO
* Experience with cost estimation, risk analysis, and operational and mission impact analysis
* Experience with Agile or SAFe systems development best practices
* Knowledge of DoD and Air Force operations, acquisition processes, or readiness processes
* Knowledge of data collection, data cleansing, hypothesis testing, linear programming, queuing theory, scheduling, optimization, metrics development, or model development
* Ability to document analytical methodologies and findings in written technical reports
* Ability to communicate and present methodologies and findings to both firm and client leadership
* Top Secret clearance preferred
* MS degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Management, Systems Management, or Engineering Management
