The F/A-18 Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) team provides system integration services to US Navy and international military partners to ensure engineering changes meet requirements for safety, system performance, system test and verification, and reliability and maintainability. The F/A-18 SEIT team in Saint Louis, MO is seeking a Liaison Engineer to provide engineering support for inspection and repair activities on the F/A-18 Service Life Modification Program which performs overhauls and service life upgrades to extend airframe life on F/A-18 Super Hornets.

The Liaison Engineer will act as the primary interface between operations, engineering, and program management. The Liaison Engineer will monitor status of aircraft as they are received into Boeing custody, inspected, repaired, and delivered back to the customer. This position will also be responsible for coordinating resolution of common material issues observed during fleet service and for disposition of non-conforming material conditions that may arise over the course of retrofits.

This is an excellent opportunity to interface with the US Navy customer and to gain close-up experience with the aircraft. The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership, communication, organization, and critical thinking skills.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Monitor inspection and repair activity of inducted aircraft.

* Participate in inducting planning where baseline work to be performed on each aircraft will be established.

* Manage induction, repair, and delivery documentation

* Coordinate non-conforming material dispositions across multi-disciplinary engineering teams

* Coordinate, draft, document and review newly created standard repair dispositions.

* Report SLM activity and status to Boeing Program Management, Senior Leadership and US Navy customers

* Present and participate in Customer review meetings (financial, program execution, material condition, technical coordination, logistics, etc.).

Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. *An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is require

Required Qualifications

* Bachelors degree or higher in an engineering field

* 5 years of previous related engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications

* Project management experience

* Experience providing dispositions for non-conforming material in a production environment

* Experience with aircraft maintenance

Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
