Senior Field-Programmable-Gate Array (FPGA) Designer - El Segundo, CA

Position Summary

Boeing Defense and Space Phantom Works organization is seeking a Senior Field-Programmable-Gate Array (FPGA) designer (level 5) to work in El Segundo, CA, to work on space and avionics programs. In this position the selected candidate will architect and develop digital and FPGA designs in VHDL or Verilog. The FPGA designs required for this position are fairly low speed controllers that are used for sensor and actuator control on human spaceflight programs. This position will develop FPGA using Unified Verification Methodology (UVM) and System Verilog. The successful candidate will be working on government programs.

Position Responsibilities:

* Works on FPGA development teams from requirements through verification

* Develops FPGA designs using Very High Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language (VHDL), Verilog, or System Verilog

* Develops Universal Verification Methodology (UVM) framework and works on UVM development teams.

* Performs FPGA architecture development, trade studies, proposals, and works with suppliers.

* Works with circuit designers to deploy the FPGA on circuit boards.

* Works on US government space avionics and proprietary programs.

* Manages designs through the engineering development life cycle.

* Improves FPGA design processes and tools.

* Works under general direction.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US government requires US citizenship (Post Start)

Basic Qualifications Required :

* 10+ years experience in digital and FPGA design and verification

* 10+ years experience using VHDL or Verilog development language

* Must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Computer Engineering (BSCE)

Preferred Qualifications:

* Secret US Security clearance level

* Experience using UVM and System Verilog

* Understanding of US Government program processes, methods, documentation, reviews, and certification

* Experience with FAA DO254 certification and documents

* Experience with advanced Xilinx devices is preferred.

Education:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility. Basic relocation is available for internal candidates.
