Amgens finance organization offers a meaningful off-cycle undergraduate internship opportunity for qualified students March 2021 August 2021, working approximately 20 hrs. per week.
Our interns will be assigned relevant projects that align with Amgens strategic goals and provide cross-functional exposure. Projects may include but are not limited to product discounting strategy, pipeline molecule valuation, resource allocation strategies, automation/technology implementations, variance analyses and/or industry benchmarking analyses. Additional responsibilities may include supporting various Finance departments on tasks such as monthly close, monthly forecasting, and ad-hoc projects related to Amgens overall business operations. Interns may support Global Commercial Operations, Research & Development, Operations, Corporate, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, or Global Business Services Finance Organizations.
Basic Qualifications:
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergraduate internship or an undergraduate co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
Must be 18 years or older
Currently enrolled in a Bachelors Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
Completion of first year studies from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
Enrolled in a full time Bachelors program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree concentration(s) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Biotechnology Management or related field
Able to demonstrate an understanding of basic financial analytical principles
Prior work experience
3.3 GPA and above
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Effective communication and organizational skills
Experience with Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Word
Ability to multi-task and stay focused on priorities in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
Strong team player with ability to collaborate with colleagues on complex assignments
Biotechnology, pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience
