Zions Bancorporation, dba Amegy Bank, is seeking an experienced Paralegal in our Houston office. As a Zions paralegal, you will be a member of our corporate legal team, reporting directly to our Managing Legal Counsel based in the Amegy Tower in the Galleria area. This role supports a diverse range of legal and operational outcomes, including many issues related to the management of our third-party suppliers.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail with the ability to effectively prioritize many tasks and manage projects across multiple disciplines. You will work proactively to build relationships with members of our internal and external legal colleagues, support internal processes, support business requests and contribute to our goal of mitigating legal and operational risk in third-party supplier contracts.
This is what your day will look like:
* Reviewing, interpreting and summarizing third-party supplier contracts
* Coordinating and documenting the review and approval of third-party supplier contract language and risk assessments, including drafting contract approval forms
* Tracking the statuses of third-party supplier contracts throughout various contract and risk review processes
* Keeping all stakeholders apprised of contract review status
* Completing risk methodology spreadsheets and data entry in applicable systems
* Assisting with Corporate Legals contract assessments that are presented to the banks procurement committee
* Receiving and responding to direction from attorneys
* Taking on additional duties as needed for the success of the bank
Successful candidates will have the following credentials:
* An Associates Degree or paralegal certification and extensive experience in a law firm or in-house legal department
* Excellent time and project management skills
* Significant knowledge of and ability to understand commercial contract language
* Proven ability to complete work and resolve issues with minimal supervision
* Extensive experience with WORD, Excel, and Outlook is required
* Familiarity with third-party risk management and use of contracts/risk management programs, such as Ariba and RSA/Archer
