DESCRIPTION
Amazons Legal Department is looking for a talented and motivated Trade Compliance Specialist in Seattle to support Amazon Web Services, a dynamic and rapidly growing business within Amazon.com. AWS is at the forefront of the cloud computing and service industry, providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, browsers and more. The successful candidate will join the AWS Legal Global Trade team, and support a range of international trade matters with an emphasis on customs/import compliance. This is an exciting and varied role that encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including developing and implementing compliance procedures and driving their continuous refinement, analyzing regulatory obligations, and partnering with colleagues and business clients to deliver critical projects.

The successful candidate must:
Have strong prior work experience in a professional setting, and a cooperative attitude;

Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
Be self-motivated and able to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced environment that is constantly changing; and

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree
5+ years of relevant prior work experience, or a law degree (or equivalent) and 2+ years of relevant work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior work experience with a law firm, corporate legal or compliance department or government agency
Prior experience in regulatory compliance including developing and implementing compliance processes and policies across cross-functional teams
Prior experience with trade compliance matters, particularly import/customs matters
Prior experience with project management
Prior experience with regulatory filings and reports
