DESCRIPTION
Amazon is looking for a customer-obsessed product manager with a strong track record of delivering results to develop a new labor planning system (ALPS) for the AMZL network. The AMZL Sr. Product Manager will work cross-functionally with multiple business stakeholders and technology teams to deliver a labor planning product that is business critical for supporting network growth and program expansion in Amazons increasingly complex last mile operations.
Successful candidates are results oriented and have thrived and succeeded in establishing new systems and processes in a highly ambiguous environment. This individual will know how to be scrappy but operate as part of a larger team and business. The role requires innovative thinking balanced with a strong customer and operational focus. This individual needs to be comfortable working both at the strategic level and diving deep into details to ensure high quality execution. This role requires a skilled influencer who can successfully drive stakeholder alignment. Strong judgement, ability to influence, analytical ability, exceptional communication skills and leadership are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities include:
Driving alignment across business/tech leaders on critical problems and solutions within the labor planning space
Deep diving current state processes and systems, understanding operational challenges within those processes and systems, collaborating cross-functionally to brainstorm and drive the right solution for the business
Work closely with operations, HR, and labor planning teams as they onboard to the new labor planning system
Collaborating with cross-functional partners to understand labor planning pain points and prioritize projects, initiatives, and product solutions
Driving continuous improvement of efficiency and accuracy of the labor planning product
Collaborating regularly and independently with tech teams to define customer acceptance criteria, test new features and drive the roll-out and adoption by business
Making trade-off decisions with the tech team regarding features and priorities within the roadmap based on impact and speed to market
Owning field and stakeholder communication, conducting trainings, running pilots, system troubleshooting and resolution, etc.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field
5+ years of industry experience in operations, general management, distribution systems, or engineering fields
Experience working with tech teams
Data-driven decision making or quantitative analysis skills (including deep knowledge of Excel, including modeling)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Masters in Operations Management, Business, Engineering or related field
Experience optimizing for short-term execution while planning for long-term technical capabilities
Experience driving multiple projects through a complete life cycle
Independently driven, resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction
Demonstrated leadership skills with proven ability to take on and create new assignments.
Advanced problem solving and root cause analysis combined with proven ability to communicate those analysis.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills; experience using data and metrics to test theories, confirm assumptions, and measure success
Ability to communicate effectively across levels, including ability to simplify complex topics for broad audiences
Ability to drive impact through cross-organizational initiatives
Ability to communicate and manage relationships with senior leadership and stakeholders to drive results
Ability to work effectively with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability and willingness to multi-task and learn new technologies quickly
Proven track record of managing and executing large projects from start to finish, including project management, data gathering, problem solving and communicating recommendations
High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive
