AGCO in Hesston, KS is currently seeking a Production planner. In this role, you will:
Report to Production Control Supervisor. Primary responsibility of this position is to manage the supply of material in support of production needs. Coordinates and implements effective material control techniques that assure material availability while achieving defined inventory plans.
Summary of Duties:
* Materials liaison for production plants and/or production lines. Coordinates all production related material needs with internal suppliers and customers.
* Directs and appraises those associates responsible for the material handling and dispatching functions associated with production materials.
* Supports and attains defined inventory levels for internally produced make components and assemblies in support of an optimized inventory plan.
* Works with internal organizations to organize material flow programs including standardized packaging, point of use locations and super markets. Identifies and resolves any potential future supply challenges.
* Plans material release quantities consistent with company order policies aimed at balancing productivity and inventory.
* Analyzes MRP system requirements and notes and corrects discrepancies when appropriate.
* Resolves internal component supply issues related to quality problems and inventory discrepancies.
* Expedites production schedules and material constraints in a manner that enables commitments and expectations to be met.
* Identifies excess, distressed and obsolete inventory and implement actions to disposition it.
* Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certifications:
4 year Business degree or equivalent related experience in purchasing, production planning, and material and inventory control preferably in an OEM or tier 1 supplier environment. APICS certification is preferred.

Purchasing, production planning, material and inventory control preferably in an OEM or tier 1 supplier environment.
Skills:
* Must have excellent communications skills
* Possess above average analytical skills.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite of products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.
* Must possess leadership ability and judgment.
* Must demonstrate initiative and a sense of urgency.
