You Will Be Responsible For:
* Communicates with courtesy and expediency when interacting with internal or external customers in person or on the telephone.
* Demonstrates respect for co-workers and develops positive working relationships with other departments.

* Accurately identifies cardiac arrhythmias in 2 leads (Lead II and MCL) and all pacer rhythms.
* Reports and documents life-threatening arrhythmias to the appropriate RN.
* Identifies components necessary to operate telemetry equipment and/or correct pattern.
* Documents routine rhythm strip each shift and when arrhythmia occurs for each telemetry patient.
* Maintains current, accurate telemetry log with patient name and other essential information according to unit standards.
* Performs unit tasks supportive to patient care and operations of the department as assigned or requested.
* Maintains data collection, printing and posting monthly outcome reports.
* Identifies emergency and /or urgent situations and notifies appropriate staff member and/or responds immediately to identified emergencies from nursing staff.
* Assists the physician and other staff with data retrieval.
* Completes all mandatory educational requirements, attends hospital wide Patient Unit Coordinator meetings, attends 75% of unit staff meetings and reviews all meeting minutes if meeting is not attended.
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
* Working knowledge of and ability to use personal computer and perform data entry.
* Working knowledge of medical terminology.
* Ability to quickly learn and successfully complete a competency skill check off list within 90 days of employment.
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
* Ability and willingness to work a flexible workweek including weekends, nights and overtime as required.
* Previous experience as a Monitor/Telemetry Tech in an acute care hospital setting OR completion of similar course acceptable to the Hospital.
* Prior related work experience in a healthcare environment (preferred) that provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
* High School education or equivalent.
* Successful completion of a Novice arrhythmia class within 30 days of hire.
* Obtain and/or Maintain CRAT certification (Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician)
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
* Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
* Valid Certified National Telemetry Technician through National Telemetry Association must possess or obtain within 6 months of hire into position.
Job Summary:
Responsible for continuous observation and documentation of cardiac rhythms displayed on the monitor screen of the telemetry console and for identifying and reporting cardiac arrhythmias/dysrhythmias.
