Job Description: Senior AE Manager - GI Care, Account Executives

Primary Function:

Build, lead and inspire a high performing team of GI Care Account Executives (AEs) to meet our customers needs at the most important IDNs across GI Care nation while enhancing the image of AbbVie as a healthcare industry leader in the market. Effectively partner with GI Care Regional Directors to align on regional vision and objectives and identify and pull through regional business opportunities. The Senior AE Manager will also focus on building and maintaining successful working partnerships with all other AbbVie functions, particularly in-field leaders, for the benefit of the patient and the franchise.

Primary Responsibilities

* Build and lead a team of Account Executives. Elevate their professional and career development.
* Ensure the team is aligned to the organizations goals and meets or exceeds the goals while operating in compliance with AbbVie policies and procedures and our Code of Conduct.
* Execute field contacts to collaborate and partner on opportunities and overcome obstacles at key accounts. Provide specific, actionable coaching that inspires higher performance.
* Ensure the team has strong key account management skills, can identify patient care gaps, close gaps utilizing approved resources, and execute and pull through key initiatives.
* Support team in executing on key initiatives in targeted accounts to include academic institutions, IDNs, hospitals, and large group practices focusing on these departments/specialty areas; Gastroenterology, Advanced Endoscopy, Pancreatic Centers of Excellence, Cystic Fibrosis Centers, Oncology, Endocrinology and Primary Care.
* Partner with team, utilizing strong business analytics skills, to strategically vet and identify business opportunities and allocation of appropriate time to maximize.
* Support account-based protocol development and formulary decision making. Implement, optimize and measure success of all account level educational and branded initiatives and resources.
* Manage the development and maintenance of strategic business relationships with national external experts and key decision makers and influencers.
* Utilize KAM leadership skills with in-field teams to share insights regarding account dynamics and market factors that influence business opportunities. Share insights on changing healthcare landscape and regional business environment changes.
* Manage the development and implementation of strategic account plans for targeted accounts, aligned to franchise strategic imperatives. In cooperation with field sales management, sales representatives, Population Health AEs and cross-franchise AEs, drive account pull-through.
* Partner, as appropriate, with other cross-franchise Senior Managers to share key learnings, best practices and maximize business opportunities at key accounts.
* Monitor progress with agreed compliant success metrics and provide feedback to all cross-functional stakeholders.
* Enhance image of AbbVie as a healthcare industry leader in the market at Academic Institutions, IDNs and large group practices.
* Model the Ways We Work, Leadership Attributes and People Leader Attributes, driving the evolution of the Pancreatic Account Executive organization and continuing to elevate our culture.

Qualifications
Skills and Experiences

* Proven track record of successful sales and sales management experience with experience selling/managing business in an institutional or account management setting.
* Experience building teams and culture within a team to inspire and motivate.
* Thorough understanding of account management and the role of an account executive as well as strong sales and customer partnership skills/success.
* High degree of strategic, analytic and industry expertise is necessary.
* Strong knowledge of changing healthcare landscape and policy and their impact on health systems.
* Ability to operate in a matrix organization and communicate/coordinate closely with all members of the AbbVie selling team.
* Demonstrated ability to network and partner effectively across functional areas while building and inspiring teams.
* Highly self-motivated with high level of initiative, creativity and innovation.
* Excellent negotiator and problem solver. Excellent leadership skills, superb persuasive abilities and strong skills at consensus building. Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Education: Bachelor's Degree Required. Advanced Degree preferred.
