Job Description

Etsy is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead Apps Modernization, an app platform team focused on designing architecture and building tools that are scalable, reliable, safe, and easy to use so that engineers are able to build features with confidence for the Buy on Etsy App. In this role you will collaborate closely across product and foundational apps teams to identify, prioritize, scope, and deliver tooling and projects that modernize our native iOS and Android architecture.

Daily operations of Apps Modernization include prioritizing engineering work, measuring the impact of tools, and working with engineering to deliver projects which reduce developer toil on iOS and Android.

Millions of users rely on our Buy on Etsy app on a monthly basis and your work will be seen and used by some of Etsy’s most dedicated buyers.

This is a full-time role, located (eventually) in Brooklyn, NY or San Francisco, CA. We are also open to remote hires within the US & Canada.

Responsibilities

Lead teams to build great products. At Etsy, engineering managers have a limited role in the hands-on process of building software, but a very large role in orchestrating and coaching engineers to achieve results together

Collaborate with other engineering teams across Etsy to advocate for and motivate change on behalf of your team

Define the roadmap and supervise its execution. You will connect and coordinate business initiatives and team priorities.

Participate in the end-to-end recruiting process, hiring, and on-boarding exceptional engineering talent

Set clear expectations for team members and provide constructive feedback

Partner cross-functionally with Product and Engineering to ensure that your team is delivering value for our individual contributors

Participate in defining and achieving Objectives and Key Results for your team

Qualifications

?????4+ years of work experience as an engineering manager supervising senior engineers

Understanding of native mobile development, workflows, and tools

Experience gathering feedback from customers to inform engineering prioritization

Experience in managing agile ceremonies and optimizing for efficiency

Experience delivering projects from planning through delivery
