A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Lead the monthly financial process as it relates to IBP, attending all step meetings, and coordinating finance efforts to ensure data driven forecasts that align financial and operational targets. Ensure the quantification of all identified risks and opportunities, including coordinating modeling scenarios for integrated reconciliation, ultimately leading to a recommendation in the MBR that will optimize business financials (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.)

• In partnership with the IBP OU Lead, act as a strategic thought partner - understand, translate, and provide insight into business performance, including competitor and industry trends. 

• Serve as an integral link between the supply chain and commercial channels (supply and demand). Effectively differentiate between controllable and uncontrollable (macro-economic) factors impacting the business, proactively working with both supply chain and market leadership to develop actionable plans to navigate those factors.

• Actively champion the IBP process, providing financial leadership as the link between supply and demand, with the goal to ultimately drive actions that provide the highest financial return. Work collaboratively with commercial teams in the supply chain to align on planned volumes, related revenue/cogs tradeoffs and their financial impact to the business.

• Understand business IBP performance metrics, and gather requisite info to track. Understand how the business benchmarks itself on critical KPIs, internally and externally and proactively collaborate with key stakeholders to address performance.

• Communicate effectively, delivering clear presentations including defending positions on controversial topics, effectively influencing up, down and across the organization in a quest to continuously seek “win-win” solutions.

• Partner closely with IBP COE and cross business/functional managers to play an active role in enhancing connectivity and communication.

• Drive the right behaviors, results and agenda needed for the business. Provide a point of view and communicates it effectively thus influencing colleagues by supporting them, challenging them and providing a unique perspective to deliver value.

• Partner closely with and leverage the broader Finance team for key information, including historical reporting and data collection. May include activities related to cost accounting, margin reporting, analysis of data and management reports, management report generation, risks and opportunities, etc.

• Provide various other analytical support for the Operating Unit/Region FP&A activities and business partner with overall Portfolio FP&A lead.

• Active participation in various business finance initiatives and other duties as assigned.

• Provide recommendations and influence the future direction and evolution of tools and process optimization opportunities with IBP

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting (Or Advanced Degree with 8+ years)

• Demonstrates strong business acumen with understanding of key drivers of success.

• Solid grounding in financial metrics, balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow analysis.

• Must be comfortable with ambiguity, adept at change management, and capable of working in cross functional teams.

• Demonstrates ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organization and build trust across multiple stakeholder groups.

• Tenacious, hands-on mentality, capable of executing under pressure and self-confident.

• Analytical proficiency to derive insights from large and complex sets of business data.

• Ability to integrate and interpret disparate sources of data using broad range of analytical data tools.

• Project Management skills

• Manage time effectively, prioritizing tasks and able to work to deadlines.

• Applies creativity and ingenuity to find unique solutions to complex problems

• Ability to work effectively in a team environment with various levels of management

• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

• MS Office (Excel, Power Point and Word) proficiency.

• Exposure to and working knowledge of financial systems

• MBA or other Master’s Degree

• Certified Public Accountant

• Lean Six Sigma or other Operational Excellence experience/certification
