Wyndham is now seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our team at the Wyndham Houston Medical Center location in Houston, Texas.
Job Summary
The Human Resources Manager Level 3 is responsible for the Human Resources department, including but not limited to staffing qualified associates, ensuring employment status compliance, overseeing all aspects of wage, benefit, workers compensation, unemployment, training, implementation and administration, and associate relations inclusive of coaching, counseling and discipline.

* At least 3 years of progressive Human Resources experience in a hotel or a related industry required.
* Previous management responsibility preferred.
* College course work in related field helpful
* High school diploma or equivalent required.

General Requirements
* Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.

* Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
* Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required.
* Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Management Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
* Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing nametags.
* Comply with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Management Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
* Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
* Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
* Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
* Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
* Perform other duties as requested by management.
Fundamental Requirements
* Maintain revenue and payroll budgets; and meet budgeted productivity while keeping quality consistently high.
* Motivate, develop, and manage associates according to Wyndham SOPs.
* Ensure compliance with SOPs and procedures in department.
* Ensure the training of department managers, supervisors, and associates on SOPs, report preparation and technical job tasks.
* Associates must, at all times, be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow associates.
* Direct and supervise Human Resources staff (if applicable).
* Prepare and maintain Human Resources budget.
* Maintain thorough and current knowledge of all Human Resources/employee regulations and laws, and ensure that the property is in compliance.
* Participate in EEO, Unemployment, Wage & Hour, Workers Compensation, OSHA, ADA, Immigration and Naturalization Service hearings. Implement policies and programs to guarantee compliance.
* Communicate new policies, information, and directives to all associates.
* Instruct staff in interpretation of HR policies and procedures.
* Ensure staffs compliance with HR policies and procedures.
* Coordinate and monitor recruitment, screening and reference checking of all associates.
* Recruit, interview and recommend all associate hires.
* Set up, approve, and maintain all wage and salary programs, including performance evaluations.
* Recommend and/or approve all associate transitions, i.e. new hire, transfer, promotion, etc.
* Maintain open door policy.
* Monitor and analyze turnover statistics.
* Conduct training classes.
* Update and submit required reports in a timely manner.
* Participate in and monitor safety committee in compliance with Loss Prevention SOPs.
* Become a certified trainer in all current HR training modules.
* Practice positive employee relations, including coaching, counseling & discipline.
* Participate in and monitor orientation programs.
* Develop managers for future advancement.
* Ensure managers are using coaching, counseling and discipline to address issues/concerns.
* Condense and expedite paperwork, develop internal communications, improve record keeping.
* Manage all personnel files.
* Develop and monitor recruitment resources.
