The Wafer Metrology Engineering Manager will direct and lead the metrology engineering team in developing and implementing precise, robust, high-throughput, efficient metrology and inspection solutions for wafer critical dimensions and defect inspection using advanced, automated equipment to develop and control complex, multidimensional thin film head structures in high volume manufacturing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Directly lead, manage and mentor a team of highly skilled engineers and technicians. Foster an environment where individuals flourish.
* Lead timely development and execution of wafer metrology efficiency and optimization projects from process development through high volume manufacturing.
* Provide technical expertise and timely support to enable the manufacturing operations team to succeed.
* Coordinate the development and deployment of robust metrology system calibration, matching, and correlation strategies across systems and platforms.
* Support manufacturing operations cycle time initiatives and root cause analysis for productivity and quality improvement.
* Define, develop and implement Metrology and Inspection solutions aligned with strategic engineering initiatives.
* Coach and mentor Engineering staff to deliver excellence.
* Coordinate development and production qualification of advanced Machine Learning analytics for metrology and inspection applications.

REQUIRED:

* Advanced degree in engineering, optics, applied physics, materials science, or other relevant field.
* Experience overseeing professional engineers in a manufacturing and/or development engineering capacity.
* Minimum of 10 years experience in an automated manufacturing environment. Hands-on experience with automated metrology/inspection systems and wafer processing would be helpful.
* Exceptional oral, interpersonal communication and presentation skills providing the ability to inspire, motivate, and effectively collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams.
* Excellent skills in problem solving, data analysis and statistics.
* Experience with industry standard methods such as SPC, Lean, Six Sigma, 8D, FMEA.
* Advanced knowledge of metrology principles and technologies as well as their application.
* Excellent project management skills.
* Ability to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines of multiple simultaneous projects and challenges.
