Responsibilities

8 hr. Day Shift, 40 hrs./week, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., every other weekend.

Havenwyck Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited and licensed psychiatric hospital, overlooking Lake Galloway in Auburn Hills, Michigan. We specialize in providing comprehensive, compassionate behavioral health services to children, adolescents and adults.

Havenwyck Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Custodian to join our team of compassionate, dedicated professionals.

Under the supervision of the Director of Plant Operations, the Environmental Services Custodian works as a team member to secure the hospital, grounds and maintain a high state of cleanliness and order.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

* Performs regular floor care for all hard surfaces throughout the hospital, including strips, waxes & buffs floors and shampoos & extracts carpets.
* Cleans and services nursing units, patient rooms, baths, bathrooms and business offices.
* Keeps Director of Plant Operations apprised of parts needed for repairs and preventative maintenance.
* Perform snow removal as required.
* Transports supplies/equipment between hospital and residential center as needed utilizing hospital vehicles.

* Performs lockout tag out procedures as defined in policy.

* Utilizes hospital pick-up truck for snow plowing/salt spreading, when needed.

* Performs landscaping duties as required.

* Performs maintenance and repair work including plumbing, masonry, carpentry, painting, electrical work, glazing, refrigeration, air conditioning and mechanical repairs.

* Prepares soiled linen for pick up by contract laundry.
* Coordinates visitor passes during visiting hours, answers switchboard as needed.
* Acts as security to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
* Member of the Fire Brigade.
* Assists the Environmental Specialists with their duties as needed.

Qualifications

* High School Graduate or equivalent required.
* Able to perform light duty repairs and maintenance (drywall, door hardware, electrical, painting) preferred.
* Background in security, floor maintenance and housekeeping techniques preferred.
* Provision of satisfactory motor vehicle operation reports required.
* Current certification in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention preferred.
* Employee must be in good standing (employment/corrective action history, performance evaluation, ect.) to be considered for internal transfer.
