SandyPines is seeking a dynamic and talented Maintenance Tech.

SandyPines is a 149 bed Residential Psychiatric Facility servicing children and adolescents ages 5 to 17. The facility is located in beautiful sub-tropical South Florida and is nestled beside Jonathan Dickinson Sate Park which creates a rustic, roomy outdoor atmosphere. SandyPines is at the county line of both Palm Beach and Martin Counties and is just minutes away from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.

The Maintenance Tech performs a variety of environmental service duties to maintain the facility in a clean, safe and sanitary condition. Assists Plant Operations Director with general maintenance and repair of building, and equipment such as boilers, HVAC units, emergency generator, chillers and refrigeration units. Maintains, inspects, tests and repairs electrical lighting, power circuits and related equipment and repairs and maintains all plumbing lines, fittings and fixtures.

Key Responsibilities include:

* Checks equipment while in operation and makes minor repairs/adjustments as necessary on a regular basis.
* Maintains and repairs boilers and related equipment using hand tools and portable power tools.
* Performs daily inspections of boilers, pipelines and operating equipment for hot water, mechanical air and vacuum to detect malfunctions. Tests boiler safety.
* Repairs boiler fittings, safety valve regulators and associated pumps.
* Demonstrates knowledge of and rational safe use of equipment.
* Inspects, tests and repairs electrical wiring and power circuits using hand tools and test equipment.
* Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment.
* Examines, tests and repairs elements of power distribution panels and control circuits.
* Inspects and repairs where possible, emergency generator systems to ensure proper operation.
* Displays competency in restoring electrical connections to complete circuits as necessary.
* Inspects, installs, repairs and replaces pipes, fittings and fixtures as necessary.
* Demonstrates knowledge of R.A.C.E. formula for fire safety.
* Demonstrates knowledge of responsibilities on hospital/department emergency preparedness plan.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

* High School or equivalent required
* 2 years of previous maintenance experience in an institutional setting.
* Working knowledge of hand and power tools.
* Detail oriented and ability to successfully multi task in a fast pace environment.
* Strong communication skills.
* Excellent customer service and organization skills.
* Highly effective listening skills.
