How will you make an impact?

Establish and lead a winning team to create and execute a data analytics strategy and data governance roadmap to deliver top tier data analytics and insights for Life Sciences Group service organization. This leader will inspire a vision for a data driven organization and champion related change management by removing both internal and external barriers to this transformational change. The successful candidate will roll up their sleeves to engage with stakeholders, understand needs and opportunities, create and execute on plans and roadmaps, create frameworks and templates, and review team deliverables.

This role will play a key role in maturing our data analytics and insights delivery capabilities, executing the plan and culture change necessary to incorporate data-based decision making as a competitive advantage, and creating an environment where leveraging data analytics and insights to drive intelligent decision making can flourish. The role also supports the implementation of a Data Governance roadmap to provide a sustainable high-quality data foundation for analytics.

What will you do?

* Articulate the vision of how to reach world-class in data analytics by leveraging data as a competitive advantage
* Lead a GSS Business Analytics team to create a data analytics strategy and develop a data governance roadmap to deliver top tier data analytics and insights that capitalize on new capabilities.
* Partner with GSS leadership and LSG business stakeholders to drive significant and sustainable business value, through data driven insights and analysis
* Push the analytics envelope beyond descriptive and diagnostic and onto predictive and prescriptive insights seeking out best practice and innovative analytics techniques to improve quality, efficiency and impact
* Focus on internal and external environment, ensuring latest tools & technologies are leveraged for driving value and decision making within the company
* Be a change agent, by defining new ways of developing solutions internally and externally, helping the organization become more effective and agile
* Co-create Data & Technology guiding principles and analytics use cases, prioritizing early wins
* Promote GSS as a value creation engine for the LSG businesses
* Proactively proposes and anticipates business demand for information and delivers to the information needs of business
* Develop and socialize the BI & Analytics Roadmap and oversee the implementation of the roadmap
* Work closely with cross-functional teams on strategic research and analytical projects, and act as an independent strategic advisor to key business decisions. Establish a data-driven understanding of the drivers of successful user and content performance
* Oversee the framework, organization and presentation of data, analysis and insights to the business, including constructing tables and dashboards, to effectively track and measure performance across the business.
* Assist the leadership and cross-functional teams in preparing, monitoring and reporting on company goals, metrics and milestones.

How will you get there?

Education:

* Bachelors Degree Business, Finance, Engineering or Economics subject providing a broad business knowledge and thinking discipline
* Masters Degree strongly preferred - Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Business-Analytics, Finance, Information Systems or a related field

Experience:

* At least 8+ years of progressive experience in a large, complex, matrix organization
* 3-5 years of analytics work experience with fluency on latest data analytics tools, techniques
* Proven record of setting and achieving a vision and strategy over 5 years involving business direction and results; taking people with you; engaging the employees in the vision and goals
* Strong influencing skills to deliver results across senior leadership within GSS, Finance, Operations, Field Service Teams, Service R&D, Sales, and Marketing
* Strong business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
* Flexibility and adaptability; Ability to navigate and be comfortable with ambiguity
* Strong organizational, change management and execution skills, able to prioritize and drive multiple tasks simultaneously
* Strong communication skills ability to condense information and articulate complex ideas in a simple and compelling way
* Think-Customer approach essential to aid communication with the business / stakeholders in a way that they can be influenced
* Proven ability to challenge senior leaders successfully while maintaining relationships & influence
* Proven ability to push own and others thinking outside the comfort zone and to apply this for the development of strategy and people
* Exceptional attention to detail
