Job Description

The Instrument Sales Representative is a key commercial role within Thermo Fisher Scientific. This role provides sales expertise leading all selling and commercial activities within existing markets for the Chromatography , Mass Spectrometry and Trace Elemental Analysis products. This Instrument Sales Representative maintains effective customer relations, develops opportunities for growth for new and existing customer base, and assures market penetration and profitability to reach long term commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

Selling Agility

* Identifies and prioritizes new client opportunities and develops solution implementation and growth strategies.
* Provides product assistance, consultation, and problem solving to customers as necessary and expedites orders.
* Ability to navigate complex customer situations to close business.
* Demonstrate product credibility to effectively consult with customers to influence key decisions on technology and product choices.
* Identifies the best technology choice to meet the customer needs, strong command of competitive offerings.
* Conduct product evaluations demonstrating the value of our products.

Drive Growth

* Leverage internal and external resources to meet customer needs.
* Plan, organize and accurately forecast territory results on a monthly basis.
* Manage direction for the territory; Develops sales strategies to meet plan and expand business within assigned territory; maintain pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives.
* Maintains awareness of competitor and industry activity
* Introduce new products and services as available.

Leadership

* Maintain accurate and current records of proposals, opportunities, accounts, contacts, leads and actions through Salesforce.com CRM system.
* Manages territory to ensure effective customer relations with purchasing and end user within assigned territory.
* Positively always represent Thermo Fisher Scientific throughout customer locations.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

* 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in analytical instrument market.
* Bachelors degree, preferably in the sciences or equivalent work experience.
* Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills
* Computer proficiency in MS Office and the internet
* Organizational skills, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
* Proven commercial excellence working in matrix environment.
* Ability to travel to customer locations up to 70% including overnight travel.
